Streets of Detroit Detroit's street circuit hosted Formula One and CART racing from 1982 to 1991 near the Renaissance Center and Cobo Arena. Reopened in 2023 for IndyCar, the challenging track saw notable wins by John Watson in 1982 and Michele Alboreto in 1983. Ayrton Senna won three times in the mid-1980s. F1 left in 1988 due to track issues, switching to CART racing.
